Mudgee Monday | girls’ weekend itinerary
If you’ve finally managed to co-ordinate a long overdue girls’ getaway, then you already know that a two-day trip just won’t suffice. You need a Mudgee Monday - a three-day adventure to soak up all the girlfriend time. So, skip an extra work day & book your Mudgee trip - your friends are worth it!
And to help you plan, we’ve pulled together the dreamiest three-day itinerary for you & your besties to wine, dine, shop, & indulge your way around Mudgee, leaving your collective cups well & truly filled.
Here’s our top ways to spend three days with your girls in Mudgee…
Friday
Roths Wine Bar
Hit the road with your girls & make it to Mudgee in time for happy hour. After checking into your Bliss home, head down to Roth’s Wine Bar for happy hour from 5pm to 6pm & live music from 7.30pm. Order woodfire pizzas & share plates, sample the local wines, & get your weekend off to a flying start!
Saturday
Good Culture Club
The Barn
Kick off your Saturday with a private yoga sesh at your accommodation, led by local teacher & friend of Bliss, Hannah from Good Culture Club.
Once you’re all stretched out, it’s time to head into town for a bite to eat & a little retail therapy on Mudgee’s shopping trail, including stops at Krysties, Good Day Lifestyle Co, Girl with a Pearl, Cherry Red, Soulful Earth & Whatever Mudgee. Be sure to add a private bra fitting with Simone from Florence May Intimates for the ultimate girls’ indulgence - yes, the bubbles are included!
Then it’s off to Blush & Bubbles, a lush two-hour workshop where beauty experts from Therapy by Krystal guide you through the ultimate make-up tutorial. BYO your fave bubbles & graze on the included platters, while getting your glam on for the rest of the day.
Head back to your accommodation to drop off your retail haul & freshen up, before grabbing a lift with Rick from Mudgee Rides out to The Barn for a long lunch. Deliciously local share plates, refreshing beverages & a gorgeous, leafy view. Keep an eye out for weddings in their dedicated event space & peep the bride walking down her garden aisle!
Grab a Mudgee Rides’ car back to your accommodation for a nap & relax, before getting ready for a gorgeous night out. For a chic dining experience, head to Gigis Mudgee, or if you’re after something more casual, head to the Paragon or the Ori pub for dinner. End your night with a boogie on the dancefloor at Kelly’s or the Woolpack - we can see those dance moves from here!
Sunday
The Drip
Zin House
Treat yourself to a little sleep-in, then throw on your active wear - it’s time to grab breakfast & explore the region. If you’re not a big brekkie fan, then coffee & freshly baked cinnamon donuts at Old Wheels Grind, located on a laidback paddock just out of town, is your go-to. If you’re needing a little more fuel, you can’t go wrong with a hearty Eltons’ egg & bacon roll or the chocolate banoffee pancakes.
Then, take a cruisy drive to The Drip (just half an hour from the CBD) & get a taste of the great outdoors on the 2.8km return walk along the Goulburn River. Admire the Hands on Rock painting & flowing waters at the end of the track - the perfect spot to snap a few pics - then make your way back to your accommodation for a quick outfit change.
Lunch is a very indulgent three-hour degustation menu at The Zin House, where you’ll be pampered with homegrown produce, wine from the Lowe Family Wine property & garden ambles between courses to meet the emus, admire the views & quite literally stop to smell the flowers.
Still full from lunch, catch a ride back to town & unwind in your luxe Bliss home for a girls’ night in. Think movies, matching PJs & in-house catering, thanks to Bliss Bites or Olive a Twist’s heat-and-serve meals.
Monday
De Beaurepaire Wines
Althea by Zin
Take a trip to town & drop into French patisserie Althea by Zin for breakfast croissants, coffee and more - not to mention some excellent treats for the drive home.
Enjoy the scenic route home via Rylstone & make a beeline for De Beaurepaire Wines, a family winery that makes elegant French wines on one of the prettiest vineyards in the region.
Don’t miss a stroll along the main streets & if you’re hungry, a lunch stop at 29 Nine 99 dumpling house for the tastiest homemade yum cha and tea, before you head back to reality…
